Transfer Prices, Waiting Time and Extra Costs

Transfer Prices, Waiting Time and Extra Costs

A transfer offer is more than its initial amount. The carrier sets the offer price, while the Service Agreement and the individual offer explain how waiting, additional driving and currency handling may affect the final payment.

The carrier sets the offer price

GetTransfer does not impose a fixed or minimum transfer price. Each carrier chooses the commercial terms it is prepared to offer for the request, and the passenger chooses whether to accept.

The current FAQ states that a driver’s price includes gasoline and road tolls, if any, as well as specified free-waiting periods. Because the accepted offer forms the transportation contract, inspect that offer for any trip-specific terms or disclosed tariffs.

Current waiting periods

Section 4.4 of the Service Agreement uses the following periods when determining a passenger no-show:

Pickup situationPeriod after the agreed pickup time
Airport, sea port or river passenger terminal60 minutes
Railway station30 minutes
Other pickup place15 minutes
Request placed no more than 30 minutes before pickup5 minutes, regardless of place

These periods are not permission to ignore a delay. Contact the carrier as soon as a flight, train, border process or baggage delay changes the expected meeting time. Waiting beyond the relevant period may be unavailable or chargeable under the accepted offer.

When additional costs can arise

An offer may state tariffs for waiting beyond the applicable limit or for additional driving time on a time-limited transfer. If the relevant additional waiting or driving occurs, the Service Agreement allows the amount to be calculated using the tariff stated in the accepted offer.

Before paying, look for:

  • the unit used for extra waiting or driving time;
  • the tariff attached to that unit;
  • the included waiting period for the pickup type;
  • the route, stops and maximum duration described in the request;
  • any condition attached to an immediate-departure booking.

Currency can affect the amount charged

The Service Agreement describes conversion between the currency selected by the user and the currency in the carrier’s offer. It also notes that a bank or payment system may debit a different currency where its own conversion rules require it.

This means a passenger should check both the marketplace display and the card or bank account used for payment. A currency-conversion difference is separate from the carrier’s underlying offer price.

Changes to the trip are not automatically included

Changing the pickup time, route, passenger count or vehicle class can be treated as cancellation of the original transfer. Extra stops or additional driving should be agreed before acceptance whenever possible. A message sent after booking does not by itself guarantee that the carrier has accepted a different trip.

How to reduce price surprises

  1. Describe the full route and planned stops in the request.
  2. Give accurate passenger and luggage information.
  3. Read any additional-time tariffs before acceptance.
  4. Confirm the pickup type and waiting period.
  5. Save the accepted offer and communicate changes promptly.

Cancellation rules are separate from waiting rules. See Saver and Flexible Bookings Explained.
