For a journey from Jeddah Airport to a hotel or home in the city, start with two details: your arrival terminal and the full destination address. A car can take you to that address; the Haramain railway takes you to a station, with a separate last part of the journey to plan. “Jeddah city centre” is too broad a destination for comparing the two.
Save the accommodation’s map pin and entrance instructions before flying. If someone is collecting you, send the terminal shown for your flight as well as its number. Do not send a driver to a different terminal simply because an old airport guide describes a pickup there.
Choose between a car and a station connection

Compare the complete journey: waiting at the airport, travel, any change of vehicle and the distance from the final stop to your entrance. A short train ride is not automatically the shortest journey to your particular address.
Taking an app ride from the correct terminal
Uber’s current JED pickup guide gives different directions for Terminal 1 and the North Terminal. At Terminal 1, it describes the route from baggage claim towards the aquarium, then escalators down to the Taxi Door and the designated ride-hailing area. Use those descriptions to orient yourself, then follow the meeting point actually assigned in the app. Uber says directions can change after a request. Match the driver and car details before boarding, and contact the driver through the app if you cannot find the assigned point.
Get a current price for your exact destination. Uber says its price depends on the ride option, trip length, demand and applicable fees; a change to the journey can also change the amount. An old fare range is not a quotation for your arrival.
Using the Haramain railway
The airport railway station is integrated into the Main Airport Terminal Building, according to Haramain. It is not the same station as Al-Sulimaniyah – JEDDAH, which the operator places in An Nassim district. Airport station · Al-Sulimaniyah station
In the Haramain timetable, choose AIRPORT – JEDDAH as your starting station and Al-Sulimaniyah – JEDDAH as your destination. Our check for 2 October 2026 showed a 20:35 departure arriving at 20:51: 16 minutes between stations. That excludes reaching the platform, waiting and the onward journey. Search your own date; a station’s opening hours are not a list of train departures.
If your flight uses a different terminal, ask the airport information desk how to reach the railway station before committing to a train. Then check how you will get from Al-Sulimaniyah to your accommodation. If you are looking for an airport bus
SAPTCO publishes information about the Jeddah city bus network. Before relying on it for this journey, obtain a route that explicitly names your arrival terminal and intended city stop. The existence of city buses alone does not confirm an airport connection.
This guide does not quote a direct airport-bus fare or timetable: we could not verify a current terminal-specific service from the official information reviewed. Ask at the airport information desk or check the operator’s current journey information before walking to a bus stop.
Before agreeing to a car journey
- Show the complete address and the entrance you need.
- For a taxi, confirm how the fare will be calculated before setting off; for an app ride, check the displayed journey details.
- For a booked transfer, read the actual meeting, waiting and delay instructions in your confirmation.
- Specify passengers, suitcases and any child-seat or accessibility needs; obtain confirmation instead of assuming the vehicle includes them.
