For New Delhi railway station (NDLS), the Airport Express offers a direct metro journey from the airport's T3 station to New Delhi. The checked DMRC single-journey QR-ticket fare is ₹64 per passenger. Arriving at the metro station is still a separate step from reaching your railway platform; check your airport terminal, railway ticket and connection margin before deciding. DMRC Airport Express fare table.

T3, T2 and T1 are different starting points

Delhi Airport identifies the Orange Airport Express line with T3. From T2, its guidance is to walk or take the shuttle to T3. T1 instead has the Terminal 1-IGI Airport station on the Magenta Line, accessed via a covered pedestrian connection. Follow your arrival terminal's current signs; do not assume that every terminal opens onto the Airport Express platform. Delhi Airport metro guide.

From T1, use DMRC's current journey planner for the metro route and interchange to New Delhi, or compare the airport's terminal-transfer option with a car. Enter your actual station and intended travel time. The ₹64 fare quoted here is for IGI Airport on the Airport Express to New Delhi, not a promise of the same fare or journey time from T1. DMRC journey planner.

At the Airport Express station, board towards New Delhi. Keep your bags manageable for the terminal walk and station security checks. The airport's approximately 25-minute description concerns the New Delhi–T3 metro journey, not the time from aircraft touchdown to your railway seat.

From New Delhi metro to your railway platform

DMRC's station access information identifies New Delhi Airport Express access on the Ajmeri Gate side of the railway station. After leaving the metro, follow the current railway-station signs and check the departure boards for your train. Do not choose an exit solely from an old platform number or a map screenshot. DMRC station access information.

Keep your railway ticket available and check its departure station, train number and departure time. Confirm the platform at the station. Allow time to leave the metro, pass any railway entry checks and reach the correct coach with your bags. If you need step-free access or luggage assistance, check the facilities and arrangements before travelling.

Build the connection backwards from the railway departure: reaching the coach, finding the platform, leaving the metro, waiting for and riding the metro, reaching the airport station, and clearing arrivals. A tight margin at any one of those steps makes a quoted metro travel time misleading. A car cannot guarantee recovery of a missed connection when road traffic is uncertain.

Compare the whole group's cost and bag arrangements

At ₹64 each, three passengers paying that fare total ₹192; four total ₹256. These are metro-fare examples only. Check the current fare and any extra journey required from your terminal. Compare with a vehicle quote for the entire party, with adequate space for all bags.

If using a car, provide the exact railway station, requested entrance and arrival terminal, not just “Delhi station.” Confirm pickup location, waiting allowance, included charges and the process for flight delays. GetTransfer offers come from carriers; verify the accepted offer's terms and request child seats, mobility assistance or bulky luggage arrangements explicitly.

Early or late flight: check service at your station

Use DMRC's first/last-train information and planner for the airport station, destination and intended time. A first departure from a line's terminus is not necessarily the first train available at the airport. If arrivals formalities leave you outside operating hours, arrange a confirmed alternative and reassess the railway connection.
