Alicante Airport to the City: C6 Stops, Fares and Night Arrivals

For central Alicante, start with the C6 airport bus and your accommodation's address. The standard single fare is €4.70. The useful comparison is the whole journey: which city stop you need, the walk with your bags and the departure you can reach after landing.
Find C6 outside Departures
Aena's airport bus guide places the C6 stop on the departures roadway. After collecting your luggage, follow the bus signs to that stop; do not assume the arrivals taxi queue is also the bus boarding point. Check that the bus is C6 towards Alicante before boarding.
The airport guide describes a year-round connection with the city, the railway station and TRAM connections. However, the route is not a straight line serving every central stop in both directions. Choose your stop using the operator's direction-specific list.
Puerta del Mar or the railway station?
On Vectalia's C6 page, C6 Vuelta is the airport-to-city direction. It includes the bus station and Puerta del Mar. C6 Ida lists the onward city loop, including Mercado–El Sabio, Luceros and Estación–Avenida.
There is a useful exception for rail passengers: Vectalia says people boarding at the airport can continue to Alicante RENFE without getting off at Puerta del Mar. Tell the driver you need the railway station and confirm when to leave the bus. Do not get off merely because other passengers do, or assume every listed stop comes before Puerta del Mar.
For an old-town or waterfront stay, compare the actual walk from Puerta del Mar with the alternative stop suggested by your accommodation. For a TRAM connection, check the city loop and the station you need rather than assuming the tram leaves from the airport. Save the final walking route offline; a city-centre bus stop is not your hotel entrance.
Use the current fare, then price your party
Vectalia's fare notice dated 24 July 2026 lists the standard C6 single at €4.70. For four adults buying ordinary singles, 4 × €4.70 = €18.80 for the airport bus. This is our arithmetic example, not a group discount. Add any separate onward fare; do not assume a TRAM ride is included.
If you qualify for a concession or hold a transport pass, confirm its C6 validity before comparing prices. At boarding, check the accepted payment method and keep your ticket. A lower local-bus fare found elsewhere should not be treated as the airport fare.
Read the airport column for a night arrival
The C6 timetable has separate Alicante and Aeropuerto columns. Use Aeropuerto for the journey into town. The checked table includes night departures, but its intervals vary: it lists 04:40 followed by 05:40. Recheck the live timetable and alerts for your travel date instead of relying on one blanket “every 30 minutes” claim.
Work backwards from when you expect to reach the stop after border formalities and bags. A landing time is not a boarding time. If a departure leaves while you are still waiting for luggage, compare the next usable bus plus the hotel walk with a road pickup; do not count only time inside the vehicle.
