For a taxi from Harry Reid Airport to the Strip, start with your hotel’s zone. A hotel near the south end and one farther north need different price comparisons. Then add the details that turn a headline fare into your actual journey: payment method, any applicable supplements, bags and the correct hotel entrance.

Find the zone for your hotel

The Nevada Taxicab Authority’s July 2026 Tier 1 airport–Strip chart lists these fares. Use the chart’s hotel list to check your destination rather than guessing from a map pin.

ZoneExamples in the official listPublished Tier 1 fare
1: Sunset north to TropicanaMandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Luxor$22.25
2: Tropicana north to FlamingoBellagio, Aria, Park MGM$26.25
3: Flamingo north to StratosphereEncore, The Venetian, Resorts World$30.25

These are the chart’s zone prices, not a promise of your final charge. The authority’s fare page lists a $3 card-payment fee, 3% excise tax and fuel-surcharge tiers. Ask which charges apply to your trip and check the displayed rate card before boarding. Do not add a fuel supplement twice if it is already reflected in the quoted total.

The authority’s zone FAQ covers direct airport–zone journeys in either direction. An extra stop or a separate trip can change the calculation. For a destination outside the listed zones, ask how the fare will be charged; a Strip hotel price is not a Downtown or Henderson quote.

Go to the taxi queue for your terminal

The airport’s taxi guide places Terminal 1 taxis outside baggage claim doors 1–4, on the east side. For Terminal 3, it directs passengers to the baggage-claim area near door 52. Follow the current signs and give the driver your hotel’s full name and address.

A large resort can have several entrances. Ask your accommodation which vehicle entrance is best for check-in, especially if you are meeting someone or need assistance with bags. Share that entrance when comparing a booked transfer, too.

What the airport bus changes

The airport’s public-bus guide lists route 108 and the Red Line at Terminal 1, Level Zero. The Red Line replaces the former route 109 name. From Terminal 3, the airport directs bus passengers to the inter-terminal shuttle to Terminal 1.

Before choosing a bus, check the route from the airport stop all the way to your hotel. Count the terminal shuttle, any onward connection and the final walk with your bags. A low bus fare can suit a solo traveller with time to spare; for a group, compare all tickets and the connection with one vehicle quote. Neither option automatically wins for every hotel.

Compare the same journey

  • Use the same terminal, hotel entrance, date and pickup time for each option.
  • Give the passenger count and actual number of bags; ask about child seats or accessibility needs in advance.
  • For a booked pickup, read the meeting instructions, flight-delay terms, waiting allowance and charges.
  • If you need several stops, include them in the request rather than treating a direct airport fare as the price for the whole itinerary.
