Unveiling the Fourth Edition of Malaysia's Islamic Tourism

Islamic Tourism Month 2025 is Here

The 2025 edition of Islamic Tourism Month (ITM) runs from August 18 to September 30, inviting Malaysians and international travelers alike to explore Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality (MFTH).

Malaysia's Unique Appeal

Organized by the Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC), this year's event highlights the beauty and diversity that make Malaysia a standout Muslim-friendly destination. ITM 2025 emphasizes the warmth and hospitality found throughout the country, promising a unique experience for families, solo adventurers, and entrepreneurs.

The campaign is structured around categories designed to appeal to varied interests:

  • Mosque Open Day
  • Accommodation
  • Travel Packages
  • Spa, Wellness, and Healthcare
  • Food and Beverages
  • Events and Exhibitions
  • Shopping and Retail
  • Tourism Products and Theme Parks

The diverse range of options ensures both locals and tourists will find something of interest.

Discover Malaysia

Malaysia has secured the top spot for ten consecutive years in the Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI). This is proof of the country's accessible prayer facilities, halal food availability, and thoughtful tourism policies. All this improves the options available for Muslim visitors and enhances their overall travel experience.

The Mosque Open Day is a key feature, inviting the public to participate in guided tours, exhibitions, and community events at select mosques. This promotes cultural exchange and a deeper appreciation of Malaysia’s Islamic heritage.

Partnership Opportunities

The ITC is encouraging local businesses in Malaysia's tourism and hospitality sectors to become official ITM 2025 partners. Benefits range from enhanced branding to potential economic growth.

Collaboration increases visibility among travelers, aligning business efforts with the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) objectives. Nur Alyssa Coraline Yussin, acting director-general of ITC, notes that joining ITM 2025 offers businesses a branding platform and aligns them with a rapidly growing Muslim tourist market. "The foundation laid in 2022 has blossomed," she added.

MFTH is Thriving

With the Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality sector thriving, ITM is the ideal moment for companies to show inclusive, culturally relevant products and services. The platform has attracted over 300 organizations, significantly contributing to Malaysia's tourism and elevating its MFTH offerings.
