For Makadi Bay or Sahl Hasheesh, book to the named resort reception, not Hurghada city. Before buying transport, check your holiday documents for a transfer voucher. An included coach may already solve the journey; if it does not, compare the hotel’s pickup with a direct car to the same entrance.

Copy the full hotel name and resort section from your booking. Madinat Makadi contains several properties, so a ride to the right area can still leave you at the wrong reception. Ask the hotel for a map pin for its guest entrance, rather than using a marker on the beach.
If transport came with the holiday
Find the transfer voucher and its airport meeting instructions. A room confirmation alone does not tell you which representative to meet. Save the voucher offline with the organiser’s contact.
- Match the flight and all passengers to the voucher.
- Check the company name on the representative’s sign and the stated terminal meeting point.
- Confirm the exact resort and whether the coach visits other hotels first.
If the voucher covers your flight and hotel, you may not need to buy another ride. Paying for a direct car can still make sense if you want to avoid waiting for other passengers or stopping at other hotels. Tell the coach organiser if you switch, so they are not waiting for you.
If you need to arrange a car
Ask your hotel how much pickup costs for your flight, everyone travelling and their bags. Oberoi, for example, offers airport transfers on request at an additional charge. JAZ Makadi Star’s factsheet also marks airport pickup and drop-off as chargeable.
Give each provider the same hotel entrance and ask whether the price is per person or for the whole car. Check the currency, child seats, waiting time and any parking or access charge. For four people, compare four shared fares with one car that fits everyone and their bags.
Neither hotel gives a pickup price on the linked page, so ask for it before booking. You can send: “HRG on [flight/date], [people and bags], to [full hotel/section and reception pin]. Please confirm the total one-way price, pickup point and waiting if the flight is late.”
If nobody is at the meeting point
Call the contact on the voucher or booking while you are still in public arrivals. Give your terminal, exit and the name of a nearby sign. Ask whether the pickup is still coming before paying for a replacement, then notify the original organiser of any change.
When the car arrives, confirm the full hotel name before loading your luggage. At the resort, check that it is the reception named on your room booking. For the return, arrange that same entrance and work backwards from your airline’s required airport-arrival time, allowing for the drive and possible traffic.
