Finding the right car for four people and four suitcases
Company-authored guide. Sources and their check date appear below; no independent or first-hand review is claimed.

Count the bags before choosing the car. Four passenger places answer the seating question, but the luggage still needs somewhere to go with every required seat in use. Put your actual bag inventory in the ride request so you can compare driver offers for suitable vehicles.
The detail that matters is surprisingly ordinary: what each traveller means by a suitcase.
The fourth suitcase problem
In a GetTransfer support case, a passenger reported that the boot held only three of the group's four suitcases; the fourth travelled in the passenger area. The carrier described the luggage as oversized and agreed to provide a larger vehicle for the return journey without an additional charge.
The correspondence contains no independent measurements of the bags and does not confirm that the promised return upgrade happened. It does show why “four suitcases” can leave a booking open to two interpretations.
For your own trip, send dimensions with the count. Measure the outside of the packed case, including wheels and handles. Include cabin bags and backpacks too, rather than assuming everyone will hold them throughout the ride.
Build one inventory for the group
Ask everyone travelling to contribute before you submit the request. A useful inventory looks like this:
| Item | What to provide |
|---|---|
| Checked cases | Number and outside height, width and depth |
| Cabin bags and backpacks | Count and approximate size |
| Pushchair | Folded dimensions and whether it folds |
| Child seats | Required type and number |
| Sports equipment | Packed dimensions, including long or rigid boxes |
Record the passenger count alongside the inventory. A folded rear seat may create luggage room in a vehicle photo, but it cannot also seat someone in your group.
You do not need to turn the list into a homemade litres calculation. Bag shapes, boot openings and the seating arrangement affect whether a load fits. Ask for confirmation against the complete inventory and the proposed vehicle.
A small party can still need a larger vehicle
Another support enquiry concerned two passengers with six bags. The carrier replied that they did not think the bags would fit the proposed car. The reviewed record gives no bag measurements, so it cannot establish a capacity rule for that model.
The useful lesson is to price the group and its luggage together. Browse offers for vehicles that meet both requirements. A larger vehicle may be the sensible purchase when it keeps the party and bags together; compare its actual price before assuming it will be out of budget.
Recheck the inventory if the car changes
A replacement starts a new capacity check. In a separate case, a passenger accepted a replacement SUV and asked for confirmation that four people, three large suitcases, a smaller suitcase and three backpacks would fit. The reply confirmed that a driver had been assigned, while the capacity answer remained unresolved in the reviewed exchange.
When this happens, resend the inventory and ask for a direct answer. If your booking includes a return journey, confirm whether the same arrangement covers that date too.
You can use this message through the available booking or support channel:
We are [number] passengers with [full inventory and dimensions]. Please confirm that the proposed vehicle can carry everyone and all these items with the required passenger seats in use. Does this also cover our return journey on [date], and what is the total price?
Choose between suitable offers
Once capacity is clear, compare the complete prices, vehicle information and relevant booking conditions. If one vehicle can carry the full group and the alternative requires two cars, compare its total with the combined price of those cars.
GetTransfer's luggage guidance asks travellers to put dimensions and quantities in the request comments. Make that field useful: the more precisely it describes your load, the clearer the job carriers are pricing.
