Cam Ranh Airport: Nha Trang City or a Bai Dai Resort?

For a Nha Trang city hotel, start with airport bus 18 or a car to the city. For a Bai Dai resort, check that hotel’s airport shuttle or a direct ride. Both start at Cam Ranh Airport (CXR), but going into Nha Trang first can take you away from a resort on the coast nearer the airport.
Check the hotel pin before choosing the ride
Before buying a bus ticket to Nha Trang, find your hotel on the map. A Bai Dai beach resort is a different destination from a city hotel: in the GetTransfer bookings we reviewed, the median recorded journey from Cam Ranh Airport was 10 km to the selected Bai Dai area, compared with 37 km to Nha Trang city addresses. Compare transport to your hotel’s actual entrance, including any ride needed after the bus.
About the figures: completed GetTransfer outward trips from Cam Ranh Airport, October 2025–September 2026. The Bai Dai and Nha Trang city areas were selected by map coordinates; city destinations were also checked by name. Return legs and airport-to-airport trips were excluded. The median is the middle recorded distance in each group. These booking distances describe the selected sample, not every hotel, GPS tracks or journey times.
City hotel: bus 18 or a direct car?
The airport’s official transport page lists Dat Moi bus 18 at VND 50,000 per passenger, with a journey of about 50–60 minutes. Two fare-paying passengers spend VND 100,000; four spend VND 200,000, before any ride from the stop to the hotel.
Before buying, show the airport counter your hotel and ask where to get off and how far you will need to walk. The airport page lists Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Thien Thuat and Tran Quang Khai on the route towards the airport; ask about stops in your direction rather than assuming they are identical.
The same airport page lists a VND 300,000 four-seat taxi option from T2 to Nha Trang. Check the price with that provider for your hotel and make sure the bags fit. At that fare, a car costs VND 100,000 more than four bus tickets, before adding any ride from the bus stop. Other taxis may quote a different price.
At the counter, show your hotel’s entrance and ask for the next departure, boarding point and baggage conditions. Allow extra time for the wait and the walk to your hotel.
Staying in Bai Dai? Ask your resort first
The Anam Cam Ranh gives an airport drive of about 15 minutes to its Bai Dai/Long Beach property. Its airport-shuttle policy lists VND 75,000 per person, including VAT and service charge, with 48 hours’ advance reservation.
Four passengers charged that fare total VND 300,000. Ask whether the shuttle meets your flight and whether children or extra bags change the price. This service is for The Anam; if you stay elsewhere, ask your own resort.
The cheaper city bus is useful only if it takes you where you need to go. For The Anam, compare its shuttle with a car to the resort. For a Nha Trang hotel, compare the city bus plus the final ride or walk with a car straight to your door.
Airport pickup and the sightseeing shuttle are separate
The Anam’s policy describes both airport transport and a town shuttle. When contacting a resort, ask specifically for CXR airport pickup, with your flight number, date, terminal, passengers and bags. A reservation on a hotel-to-town shuttle does not arrange the arrival from your flight.
Save the full hotel name, a map pin for reception, the meeting instructions and a contact number offline. At arrivals, go to the agreed counter or meeting point. Before setting off in a car, show the destination and check that the price includes parking, road charges and any child seats you requested.
If your flight changes
Notify the hotel or pickup organiser as soon as the arrival changes. The Anam’s policy includes a charge for some changes within 12 hours of arrival; ask how it applies to your booking before accepting a replacement. For bus 18, check the next departure at the airport rather than assuming every late landing has a connection.
If no suitable shared service remains, agree a car price to your hotel and let reception know when you will arrive. For the return, work backwards from your airline’s required airport-arrival time. Even a resort’s 15-minute drive still needs time at CXR for check-in, baggage and security.
