Bali Airport to Ubud: Plan the Arrival at Your Villa

For Ubud, arrange a ride to your hotel or villa entrance, not just the town centre. Ask your host for a pickup price and a map pin for where the car should stop. Then compare that price with an airport taxi or a booked transfer for everyone travelling, including their bags.
How long should you allow?
Alila Ubud’s FAQ gives 90–120 minutes from DPS, depending on traffic, for its resort outside central Ubud. For a different hotel, ask your host how long the drive usually takes around your arrival time. Add time to get through the airport, collect bags and meet the driver.
Leave your first evening flexible. A dinner or activity booked around the shortest driving estimate can turn an ordinary traffic delay into a missed reservation.
What a car costs: a hotel example
The Garcia Ubud, in Lodtunduh, publishes the following one-way airport-transfer offers for its property:

At the MPV price, two adults sharing pay the equivalent of IDR 300,000 each; four pay IDR 150,000 each. That is the price for the car to The Garcia; another villa may cost more or less.
When asking for your own price, list the suitcases as well as the passengers. Enough seats does not always mean enough room for four large cases or surfboards. Request any child seats at the same time.
Can the car reach your villa?
Ask the host whether a car can reach reception or the villa door. If not, find out where someone will meet you, how far you must walk, whether there are steps and who can help with the bags. Settle this before flying, particularly if you arrive after dark.
Send one concise message: “We land at DPS on [flight/date], with [people and bags]. Please send the arrival pin and tell us whether the car reaches reception. If not, where do we meet you with the luggage?” Save the reply offline and share it with the driver before leaving the airport.
Meet your car at DPS
Follow the meeting instructions on a confirmed pickup. If arranging a vehicle on arrival, the airport lists official taxi counters in the international arrivals area and the domestic arrivals area. Show the full property address when asking for the total fare.
If you cannot find a booked driver, contact the organiser from an identifiable exit or sign and state your terminal. Agree where to meet before walking elsewhere, so you and the driver do not keep missing each other.
Early arrival, midnight landing or a delay
Transport and room access are separate arrangements. For example, Alaya Resort Ubud asks for 48 hours’ notice for its chargeable pickup and publishes 15:00 check-in. If landing early, ask your property about luggage storage or early access. For a landing after midnight, give the host the date and time you expect to reach the villa and ask which night you need to book.
If the flight changes, update both the pickup contact and the host. Ask how long the driver can wait and how you will get into the property late. If you need another car, give the new driver the same entrance pin and agree the total price before leaving.
