The Expansion of Virtuoso’s Portfolio

This year, the luxury travel network anticipates some of the most exciting hotel openings within the industry.

In its continued quest to elevate luxury travel, Virtuoso has broadened its already impressive portfolio by adding over 100 new hotels and resorts as preferred partners over the past year. This expansion now brings the total to more than 1,800 accommodations that represent the pinnacle of luxury. As a result, this curated selection has drawn in a savvy clientele, underscored by a rising average daily rate (ADR) of US$1,540 for 2024, marking a three percent increase from the previous year.

Diverse Accommodations Available

Virtuoso’s unique Hotels & Resorts program spans a wide range of accommodations tailored to fit various preferences. From sprawling properties, like onefinestay’s collection of over 5,000 villas and residences and the 4,750-room Wynn Las Vegas, to cozy retreats such as Ladder, a Ted Turner Reserve in New Mexico, as well as the exclusive private island of Moto Nao Nao in French Polynesia. The offerings cater to every type of traveler, ensuring options for those seeking either tranquil, intimate settings or lively, bustling atmospheres.

Remarkably, nearly half of Virtuoso’s preferred hotels feature fewer than 100 rooms, with more than a quarter housing less than 50, allowing travelers to find exactly what they desire.

The network looks forward to unveiling some of the most innovative hotels by 2025 through the Virtuoso Preview Property program. This pre-opening partnership allows Virtuoso’s influential advisors early access for training, networking, and marketing purposes, enhancing the travel experience.

The Trend for Luxury Accommodations

According to Virtuoso’s proprietary insights regarding luxury travelers from 17 global markets, there is a rising trend in the demand for suites and villas. A notable 38 percent of global respondents indicate an intention to book a suite, while 27 percent plan to book a villa. This shift reveals a growing preference for accommodations that offer more space and privacy.

Notably, markets such as the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, China, Hong Kong, and Australia show a higher inclination towards booking suites, whereas villa bookings largely stem from travelers from Mexico, UAE, India, China, and Australia.

In response to the rising desires of ultra-high-net-worth travelers for luxury accommodations, Virtuoso introduced two dedicated campaigns: Villas Spotlight and Suites Spotlight. These campaigns are designed to highlight select luxury partners through visually appealing landing pages on Virtuoso.com, engaging consumers and inspiring them to reach out to an advisor.

The Villas Spotlight campaign, launched last year, has led to a 13 percent increase in new revenue across featured villa properties, along with a 20 percent rise in ADR. Additionally, the campaign has notably increased web traffic, with a 22 percent uptick in weekly web sessions and a dedicated email marketing campaign achieving an impressive 52 percent open rate. Virtuoso anticipates continued success with these ongoing marketing efforts.
