Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (IATA code CDG), also known as Roissy, is the second busiest airport in Europe after London Heathrow.  Every day, 150,000 travellers take advantage of 1,400 flights to more than 100 countries. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport is located 26km north-east of the city centre in the Ile de France region. There are several ways to get from Charles de Gaulle Airport to the centre of Paris.

RER commuter trains

The RER is a relatively cheap way to get to the centre of Paris. You can take the B line directly to Gare de Norde Nord or Chatelet Less Halles and then take the metro through the city.

The RER lines are always marked with letters (lines A and B) and the metro lines with numbers (lines 1, 2, 3, etc.) The RER station at the airport is called Roissypole. It is located between Terminals 2 and 3 and is easy to find by following the RER Paris by Train signs.

As you enter the station, you will see ticket machines and a board with the nearest trains to Paris. Tickets are bought here and cost around 11 euros per journey.  Commuter trains run every 10-20 minutes from 5am to midnight.

Trains marked “Express” run non-stop to the centre of Paris and take 30-35 minutes. Regular trains stop at stations and take 50 minutes.

Autocarro

Buses are very common. RoissyBus operates between Charles de Gaulle airport and the centre of Paris, as well as the 350 and 351 shuttle buses and the 140 and 143 night buses. RoissyBus buses run in the direction of the Opera House (Place de L’Opera). Frequency: every 15-20 minutes from 6:00 to 00:30. Journey time: 50 minutes, cost around 16 euros.

Bus 350 to Porte de la Chapelle. It runs every 15-30 minutes from 06:00 to 22:30. The fare is 6 euros and the journey takes 70 minutes. Tickets can be bought from machines or from the driver.

Bus 351 runs from the airport to Metro Nation in Paris itself. It runs every 15-30 minutes from 07:00 to 21:40. Tickets cost 6 euros and the journey takes 70 minutes. Tickets are purchased as for the 350 line. Noctilien night buses 140 and 143 to Gare de L’Est leave Terminals 1, 3 (Roissypole) and the TGV station every 30 minutes from midnight to 4.30am. The fare is 8 euros and the journey takes about an hour. The first bus back to the airport from Paris leaves Gare de l’Est at 01:00. The last one is at 3:40 a.m. and you will arrive at Charles de Gaulle at 5:00 a.m.

Táxi

French taxi drivers come from many different countries. Many still overcharge tourists. Booking online reduces the chance of fraud.

Aluguer de automóveis

Almost all the major European car hire companies are represented in the Charles de Gaulle airport terminals and you can book a car there if you wish. However, registering your car on site often results in a significant increase in the cost of the car.

In fact, many car rental companies offer more flexible rates for travellers who book their cars online. This allows you to unburden the office at the airport and not have to fight for customers in the terminals themselves.

Renting through a dedicated website eliminates most of these risks. The system, whose database is linked to the largest car rental companies, finds the most profitable offers in a matter of seconds, ranking them by price.  In addition, the online service displays all prices in a single view, eliminating the possibility of overpayment. In the vast majority of situations, this method will help to significantly reduce costs.

Recommendations for tourists: rent a car from a company like GetRentaCar.com. Many tourists have shared their positive experiences with this company. GetRentaCar.com notes that it is one of the most reliable and hassle-free car rental services in the city.

Transfer Privado

Probably the most convenient and reliable way to get from the airport to the city centre or your hotel is to book a transfer in advance. This can be done through GetTransfer.com.

GetTransfer.com is the top platform for booking global mobility services. You can book transfers, long-distance trips, taxi rides, hourly car rentals with a driver, and delivery services worldwide. The platform features ads, reviews, accurate car descriptions, and photos. This ensures customers get the best quality service at the best price. GetTransfer.com also offers support in over 20 languages. This eliminates the language barrier and makes the booking process easier than ever.

GetTransfer.com offers a convenient service at a fixed price. No need to change money at the airport, the driver will meet you and help you with your luggage. Unlike public transport, a shuttle service will take you directly to your hotel. If you are travelling with young children, please state in advance on the booking form that a child seat is required.

The choice of means of transport depends on your preferences: if you want to save money, go by bus. If you are looking for comfort and speed, it is better to book a private transfer in advance.
