De acordo com Fatih Polat, biólogo assistente de projeto na DEKAMER, as medidas de proteção são apoiadas pela Direção-Geral de Proteção dos Bens Naturais do Ministério do Ambiente, Urbanização e Alterações Climáticas. O primeiro ninho desta época foi descoberto a 29 de abril e a contagem atual é de dez.

Polat indicated that the incubation duration for the eggs ranges between 45 to 60 days. “The peak nesting activity is expected around June, with hatchlings emerging around mid-July,” he stated, highlighting the significance of İztuzu Beach as a critical conservation site for the loggerhead turtle in the Mediterranean.
