Polat indicated that the incubation duration for the eggs ranges between 45 to 60 days. “The peak nesting activity is expected around June, with hatchlings emerging around mid-July,” he stated, highlighting the significance of İztuzu Beach as a critical conservation site for the loggerhead turtle in the Mediterranean.

Community Cleanup Initiative in Marmaris

In a proactive step for the environment, residents and officials in Marmaris participated in a clean-up drive under the national initiative, “The Forest is Mine.” This campaign, spearheaded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, not only aimed to clean up forest areas but also raised awareness about fire prevention.
