How to Get from Venice Airport to the City Centre

Marco Polo Airport (VCE) is located about 14 km from Venice, and there are several ways to get to the city: by water or by land. As Venice is a city of canals, water transport is one of the most popular options. 

Speedboat

The Alilaguna boat, a water taxi from Venice airport, departs from the marina near the airport. Two lines connect the airport and Venice: the blue and the pink. The blue line operates all year round and the pink line from April to October. The trip takes 1 hour and 15 minutes and costs 8 euros. They follow the same route, but the journey takes a little longer—about 20-26 minutes. The ticket is cheaper, costing 4-6 euros. FlixBus departs every 4 hours. Itabus has 3 departures a day.

If you need speed, are travelling with a lot of luggage or prefer comfort, you can take a car taxi to the centre of Venice. However, you will have to pay considerably more than for public transport.
