How the Emirates and flydubai alliance enhances global connectivity and traveller rewards

Broadening travel horizons through strategic collaboration

The collaboration between Emirates and flydubai represents a leading example of airlines working together to broaden networks and enhance travel experiences worldwide. By joining forces, these carriers connect millions across a huge network of destinations while offering valuable benefits to frequent flyers through their joint loyalty programme, Emirates Skywards.

A vast network at a glance

Together, Emirates and flydubai offer access to an impressive 245 destinations across 103 countries, creating unparalleled opportunities for travellers to explore the globe.

Emirates passengers gain access to an additional 103 flydubai destinations, whereas flydubai travellers can connect to 107 unique Emirates locations. Some of the sought-after spots enabled by this partnership include vibrant cities and exotic locales such as Kathmandu, Baku, Krabi, Belgrade, and Zanzibar, ensuring more choices for every type of explorer.

New destinations and network growth

As the collaboration evolves, the network continues to expand. In 2025, Emirates welcomed destinations like Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Siem Reap, and Da Nang to its roster. At the same time, flydubai increased its reach with new routes to Chisnau, Iasi, Vilnius, Riga, and Nairobi, enhancing travel options further.

Passenger growth and premium travel appeal

The partnership’s appeal is reflected in a notable increase in passenger traffic on codeshare flights, surpassing 5 million travellers last year—an impressive 10% rise compared to the previous year. Since 2017, over 22 million travellers have benefited from this integrated network.

Premium travel is also gaining traction, with bookings in Emirates' First, Business, and Premium Economy cabins rising by 20%, while flydubai’s Premium Economy bookings skyrocketed by 130%, indicating a growing appetite for comfort and luxury among passengers.

Streamlining the travel experience

One of the partnership’s standout offerings is the seamless journey it provides. Passengers enjoy streamlined check-in, smooth baggage transfers, optimized flight schedules, and dedicated access to Dubai’s celebrated Terminal 3. flydubai Business Class travellers benefit from an elevated service experience at Terminal 2, including personalized Meet and Assist services, exclusive seated check-in options, and Fast Track security clearance—facilitating time-saving airport navigation.

Rewarding loyalty with Emirates Skywards

The joint loyalty program, Emirates Skywards, boasts nearly 18 million members who have collectively earned over 311 billion Skywards Miles and redeemed more than 303 billion miles for flights and upgrades. Members across Platinum, Gold, and Silver tiers enjoy perks such as lounge access, extra baggage allowances, and priority check-in on both airlines, strengthening traveller satisfaction.

New features like Classic Rewards allow members to book flights on flydubai using fixed Skywards Miles, starting as low as 5,000 miles. With over 130 destinations available—including seasonal favorites like Mykonos, Bodrum, and Olbia—there’s plenty of value to be had. Additionally, the Cash+Miles option offers even more savings, reducing ticket prices effectively.

Investing in fleet and ground services

Both airlines continue to modernize their fleets to elevate passenger comfort and reliability. Emirates has retrofitted nearly 220 aircraft, introducing new Premium Economy cabins as part of this transformation. Similarly, flydubai has upgraded 15 aircraft and enhanced ground handling with a dedicated Business Class check-in area at Terminal 2.
