Marco Polo Airport (VCE) is located about 14 km from Venice, and there are several ways to get to the city: by water or by land. As Venice is a city of canals, water transport is one of the most popular options.

Speedboat

The Alilaguna boat, a water taxi from Venice airport, departs from the marina near the airport. Two lines connect the airport and Venice: the blue and the pink. The blue line operates all year round and the pink line from April to October. The trip takes 1 hour and 15 minutes and costs 8 euros. Tickets can be bought at the Alilaguna ticket office at the airport, at the pier or online.

Autobús

If water transport is not for you or you want to get to Venice faster, there are options by land. One of these is the ATVO Express Shuttle bus, which runs non-stop from the airport to Piazzale Roma, a transport hub from where you can transfer to a vaporetto or walk. Tickets cost 11 euros each way, and the journey takes about 20 minutes, with buses departing every 20 minutes. You can also use FlixBus and Itabus buses. They follow the same route, but the journey takes a little longer—about 20-26 minutes. The ticket is cheaper, costing 4-6 euros. FlixBus departs every 4 hours. Itabus has 3 departures a day.

Taxi

If you need speed, are travelling with a lot of luggage or prefer comfort, you can take a car taxi to the centre of Venice. However, you will have to pay considerably more than for public transport.

Alquiler de coches

Most of the major European car hire companies are represented at this Airport. It is better to book a car in advance. Booking a car on the spot can be much more expensive due to the pricing policies of the car rental companies themselves. Many of them have more loyal online prices to avoid having to compete directly on site.

Many tourists visiting Venice have shared positive experiences with GetRentaCar.com, highlighting it as one of the most reliable and hassle-free car rental services in the city.

Traslado privado

The choice of transport depends on your preferences. If economy is important, choose a bus. Think about water transport in case you want to enjoy the views of Venice. If comfort and speed are key, rent a car or take a private transfer.
