Paris-Orly Airport (IATA code – ORY) is the second largest and busiest airport in Paris after Charles de Gaulle Airport.

The distance from Orly Airport to the centre of Paris is about 14 km. The airport dates back to 1932 and was originally known as Villeneuve-Orly. 20 years later, in 1952, 1.2 million passengers passed through the airport; in 1962, its traffic exceeded the number of visitors to the Palace of Versailles.

The cheapest way to get from Orly to Paris is by tram. The T7 trams run from the airport to the Villejuif-Louis Aragon metro station. This is the 7th (pink) line of the Paris metro.

Orlybus buses 

Orlybus buses connect Orly airport with Denfert-Rochereau station, the junction of metro lines 4 and 6. The airport has 2 stops: one at terminal 4 and the other at terminals 1-2-3.

Travel time: from Orly – from 06:00 to 00:30, from Paris – from 05:35 to 00:30 every 10-15 minutes. Journey time: 25-35 minutes. The fare is 11.2 euros. 

City buses 

Bus 91.10 goes to Massy TGV station, where the SNCF TGV high speed trains to other regions of France stop. The bus stops at terminal 4 and terminal 1-2. Journey time: 35-40 minutes. Tickets cost 2.5 euros.

Night buses run from 0.30am to 5.30am. The journey takes about 45 minutes and there are many stops along the way. Orly airport is an intermediate stop, so make sure you know which direction you are going. Night buses stop at Terminal 4.

Orlyval Express metro + RER train 

There is no direct access to the train station at Orly Airport.  However, there is a convenient and fast link to the RER train station, which will take you to the centre of Paris or the metro.

To get to the station from Orly airport, you can take the Orlyval, an automatic light metro that has only three stops: the RER Antony station (line B) in the south of Paris, and two at the airport itself – terminals 1-2 and 4. It should be noted that travel between terminals is free and a trip into the city (Orlyval+RER) costs 14.5 euros.

Ticket offices and machines are located outside the entrance to the station and are easy to find by following the Orlyval signs. Orlyval is open from 6:00 to 23:30, with trains running every 4-7 minutes.
