New Riyadh–Munich Route Launch
Lufthansa is set to enhance its service offerings by reintroducing the Riyadh to Munich route, marking a significant growth of approximately 50 percent in capacity within Saudi Arabia. This new connection will be operational starting from the upcoming winter schedule of 2025/26 on 27 October 2025.
Direct Flights with Enhanced Connectivity
The newly established route allows for up to 300 passengers to fly each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning, providing a direct flight to Munich, which is Lufthansa’s southern hub in Germany. The flight duration is around five hours, making it a quick and convenient option for travelers.
With the introduction of Flight LH641, passengers will depart Riyadh at 6:25 a.m. and arrive in Munich by 10:25 a.m. local time. This new service facilitates excellent onward connections across Europe. The return leg of the flight will be available every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, taking off from Munich at 9:45 p.m. and landing back in Riyadh at 4:50 a.m. the following morning.
Modern Aircraft and Competitive Fares
The route will be serviced by a state-of-the-art, fuel-efficient Airbus A350-900, equipped to accommodate 293 seats spread across Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class. Travelers can anticipate competitive fares, with return tickets in Economy starting at around 1,495 SAR.
Increased Flight Options
Lufthansa already operates daily flights from Riyadh to Frankfurt and has strategically positioned itself to cater to increased demand. Other airlines are also stepping up their game: ITA Airways provides five weekly flights from Riyadh to Rome, while Eurowings connects Jeddah to multiple German cities. In total, the Lufthansa Group will now operate 25 weekly flights from Saudi Arabia and over 120 flights to the Middle East.
Responding to Growing Demand
Lufthansa’s longstanding presence in Saudi Arabia spans 65 years, with this latest initiative commemorating its anniversary in Dammam, the first destination in the Kingdom. The growing demand for travel to and from Riyadh is largely fueled by the city’s expansion and the hosting of significant events such as the World Expo 2030 و FIFA Men’s World Cup 2034.
Munich as a Gateway
Munich is regarded as one of the top destinations in Western Europe, not only for its business significance but also as a beautiful gateway for travelers. The airport serves approximately 130 global destinations, making it an essential transfer hub for Saudi travelers heading to Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Exploring Munich
Visitors to Munich can delight in its vibrant culture, picturesque landscapes, and notable international companies like BMW و Siemens. Events like Oktoberfest and the renowned Christmas markets further add to the allure of this Bavarian city.
الخاتمة
The reestablishment of the Riyadh–Munich route by Lufthansa is set to change the travel landscape between these two major cities significantly. Not only does it expand options for passengers, but it also enhances connectivity and opens up opportunities for more personal and business travel.
